This is a very interesting and simple recipe but a healthier one.This oothapam when i saw in a cookery show by chef.Jacob was waiting to try it.Few days back when i saw 2 flowers in my garden,with no second thought i prepared this oothapam though i was not having enough dosa batter,still i managed to prepare this oothapam but still was in a double mind whether to try r not.
When i found the benefits of hibiscus in the net was really impressed about it.Its says that hibiscus flowers can assist in controlling blood pressure,increasing circulation and reducing cholesterol.Since the flowers are having high content of vitamin C it helps resist cold and chest congestion.After going these information's now i became firm that i will try this and how ever the result i should have this oothapam.
My aunt also taught me the hibiscus juice which is really good for the uterus,i wanted to try but the problem i wont get that much flowers here.Once i get the required flowers i will immediately post it.Only waiting to get the enough flowers.Now let me go to the simple and easy hibiscus oothapam.

Ingredients :
Dosa batter | Needed for 2 oothapam |
Hibiscus flowers | 2 nos |
Red chillie powder | 1/4 tsp |
Onion | 1 medium size(finely chopped) |
Oil | For drizzling |
Seasoning :
Oil | 1 1/2 tsp |
Mustard seeds | 1/4 tsp |
Urad dall | 1/4 tsp |
Method :
1. Do the seasoning and add to the dosa batter along with the red chillie powder and if required salt.
2. Now pour the dosa batter on the tawa and spread like a oothapam.Then spread the onions on the batter and remove the petals part alone on the batter and drizzle enough oil.
3. Now close the oothapam with the lid and cover until cooked.
4. Once the top is cooked remove the lid and flip the other side and reduce the fire and cook.Once everything is done serve with any kind of chutney.
Notes :
1. Since i had only 2 flowers i used one for each oothapam.In case having more flowers can add more also.
